Solitude And Serenity!

So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding. (Prov. 2:2)

An inner restlessness grows within us when we refuse to get alone [with God] and examine our own hearts, including our motives. As our lives begin to pick up the debris that accompanies a lot of activities and involvements, we can train ourselves to go right on, to stay active, to be busy in the Lord's work. Unless we discipline ourselves to pull back, to get alone for the hard work of self-examination in times of solitude, serenity will remain only a distant dream. How busy we can become . . . and as result, how empty! We mouth words, but they mean nothing. We find ourselves trafficking in unlived truths. We fake spirituality. . . .

How easy to fall prey to meaningless talk, cliche-ridden responses, and mindless activities! It was never meant to be that way; but, more often than not, that's the way it is. To break the habit, solitude is required. The hard work of self-examination on a recurring basis is absolutely essential.

Intimacy with the Almighty

Solitude and serenity are an absolute must in our lives.

In order for us to be able to find periods of serenity in our lives, we have to be able find periods of solitude. Those moments of solitude provide us with time for fresh perspective. It is within that time of solitude where serenity will be found. Some of the greatest heroes we have ever known needed a period of solitude. David, Jesus, yes, even Superman needed moments of solitude and serenity. Anyone who is a fan of Superman will know that he had a place called the Fortress of Solitude.

What is the purpose of solitude in OUR lives? The purpose of solitude in our lives is to help us momentarily separate ourselves from the daily grind so we can gather our thoughts about the events that have happened to us. Solitude is great when we use that time to further our relationship with God. Jesus took the time to spend moments alone with His Father. David spent time alone before rounding up his "mighty men".

What is the purpose of serenity in our lives? The purpose of serenity in our lives is so we can experience the peace and joy of being in communion with God. Serenity provides us with comfort. It relieves us of any turmoil we may have. It relieves us of any anxiety we may have. In a nutshell, moments of serenity provides us ultimately provides us with a period of peace that will not be had if we choose to go about our lives in the daily grind. Think about it. What will happen in your life if you don't make time for solitude and find the serenity that you so desperately need in your life? My opening remarks will act as a constant reminder of the essential need for solitude and serenity.

Solitude and serenity are an absolute must in our lives.

My dear friends, make that YOUR aim! Make it your aim to spend times of solitude in the very presence of God so you can find all the serenity you desperately need to rejuvenate and come out of that moment of solitude with a fresh, godly perspective that will one day make an immense, eternal impact in the lives of those you love and care about. Be encouraged!

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
