For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. (1 Cor. 6:20)
Committed individuals live with shallow tent pegs. They may own things, but nothing owns them. They have come to terms with merchandise that has a price tag and opted for commitment to values that are priceless.
Denying oneself is not to be equated with losing one's uniqueness or becoming of no value. There have been great people in each generation who modeled self-denial as they made significant contributions to humankind.
For years I taught that we are to "count the cost." It seems so plausable. But suddenly one day, it dawned on me that Jesus never once told His followers to count the cost. No---He's the One who has already done that. He is the King who has already determined what it will take to encounter and triumph over life's enemies. And what will it take? A few strong, quality-minded champions whose commitment is solid as stone.
Living Above the Level of Mediocrity
How solid is your relationship with God? Is your relationship with God as solid as the big boulder pictured above? Or is your relationship with God is as soft and granular as the sand underneath your feet?
What does a solid relationship with anyone (including God) look like? A solid relationship is a relationship that is stable, secure, not exactly trouble-free, but a relationship that is built and centered on God and His prevailing sovereignty. A solid relationship with God at its center will also enhance the relationships with the people that God has placed around you.
My dear friends, Jesus has paid the price on the cross to have a solid relationship with you. All you need to do is submit your life by faith and trust Him to enable you and empower you to become the person He wants you to be. As you have a solid relationship with God, I know you will have a rock-solid relationship with those around you from those living with you at home to those you work with at your place of employment.
Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in your journey to having a solid relationship with God and the people around you! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
