The Image Of God's Son!

But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Cor. 3:18)

Maybe you've never before stopped to consider that God is committed to one major objective in the lives of all His people: to conform us to "the image of His Son." We need to blow the dust off the timeless goal now that our cage is overcrowded and our lives  are growing increasingly more distant from each other.

Exactly what does our heavenly Father want to develop within us? What is that "image of His Son"? I believe the simple answer is found in Christ's own words. Listen as He declares his primary reason for coming: For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).

No mumbo jumbo. Just a straight-from-the-shoulder admission. He came to serve and to give. It makes sense, then, to say that God desires the same for us.

Dropping Your Guard

What does it look like to look like Jesus?

Obviously, I don't think the above devotional is making a reference to looks.

What the above devotional is making a reference to is what it looks like to bear the image of God's Son in the form of service. Jesus can immediately be seen as we serve those around us. Jesus can be seen through us at home, at work, at church, and anywhere else God sends us to. When we serve with a spirit of joy and happiness, the person of Jesus is more clearly reflected in, through, and around us.

Can Jesus be seen through you in your service to God and to others? Do you bear the image of God's Son in your daily living? These questions and so many more need to be asked in regards to bearing God's Son's image in our lives. It is His image that will bring souls to Christ. It is the image of Jesus that will compel others to want what you have in Christ. In bearing the image of God's Son, we have a wonderful opportunity to bring a small piece of heaven to earth. Isn't that a wonderful expression of our faith in the living God? My dear friends, I strongly encourage you to bear the image of God's Son so that you have an opportunity to make an eternal impact in the lives of those who live in your community. God is indeed Faithful and True and He is on your side. Be encouraged!

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
