Mercy Beyond Misery!

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. (Lk. 1:50)

I have a dear friend who stayed by his wife's side for almost a year as she was dying from ovarian cancer. He told me of such occasions, when the Lord gave merciful relief  from the pain. He said it was almost as if an angel of mercy hovered over their room.

When we're suffering the consequences of unfair treatment, there is mercy with God. When we're enduring the grief of loss, there is mercy. When we struggle with the limitations of a handicap, there is mercy. When we're hurting and in physical pain, there is mercy. All these earthly struggles that occur are no accident. God is in the midst of them, working out His sovereign will. Yes, it's a mystery, which means we need special mercy to endure the languish and misery of the pain.

The Mystery of God's Will

Suffering does indeed play a major role in our lives. Is suffering easy to watch or experience firsthand? No, it is not. Is suffering considered by many a "necessary evil"? Even though it may be considered by many to be a "necessary evil", suffering is not by any means inherently evil. Suffering just so happens to be a byproduct of the sinful world we live in. It is the byproduct of our sinful nature.

Was it God's intention for mankind to suffer incessantly? Absolutely not! Quite the opposite. God's intention is for us to experience His mercy, grace, and love. In spite of all the misery that we see and experience in our lives, there is mercy beyond the misery. God's mercy shines in the lives of His children every single day regardless of the misery present in their lives. My dear friends, there will come a day when God's mercy will not only eliminate misery, but reign forever. God's mercy already reigns in heaven. Earth will also experience His perfect and righteous mercy one day.

Be encouraged my friend. No matter what it looks like right now in your life, always know that God's mercy is bigger and stronger than any temporary misery you will experience in your lifetime. There is mercy beyond misery! Those words not only encourage me, they comfort me as well. Those words provide the anticipated hope of Jesus coming back in all His glory to claim what is rightfully His, His children. My hope and prayer for you is that you will be constantly reminded of God's mercy beyond any kind of misery you may find yourself in right now. God is indeed Faithful and True my friends!

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
