Developing Inward Beauty!

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised. (Prov. 31:30)

External beauty is ephemeral. Internal beauty is eternal. The former is attractive to the world; the latter is pleasing to God. Peter describes the inner beauty as a "gentle and quiet spirit"  (1 Pet. 3:4). This might be paraphrased "a gentle tranquility." Without question, this is any woman's most powerful quality---true character. And such character comes from within---from the hidden person of the heart---because you know who you are and you know who you adore and serve, the Lord Christ. . . .

Outward adornment doesn't take a great deal of time. I've seen women do it in a few minutes on their way to work in the morning. . . . But it takes a lifetime to prepare and develop the hidden person of the heart.

Hope Again

I have been to Times Square in New York City on numerous occasions. There are billboards everywhere commemorating the outward beauty of the models and the difference the various products make for the model(s) represented on their billboard. In the American culture, more emphasis is placed on external beauty than internal beauty.

Unfortunately, the emphasis on external beauty has also permeated our Christian circles. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fitness and wellness fanatic, but that should never be my primary motivation. That should never be anyone's, who is in Christ, primary motivation. Having external beauty is wonderful, but how much more beautiful will our internal beauty be?

When it is all said and done, it is our internal beauty that will matter most. It is in our internal beauty where the wellspring of our true character comes from. When our internal beauty is developed in a manner that pleases God and brings glory to His name, nothing else will matter, especially our external beauty. So friend, have you developed your inner beauty? Food for thought! :-).

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
