God Is In Control!

Be not wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (Prov. 3:7)

What often looks as if it is here to stay . . . can be frighteningly temporary. When God says, "That's it; that's curtains," it's only a matter of time. It is the perspective in all of this that holds us together. Our God is in complete control. He lets nothing out of His grip. . . .

Yet our Lord is not some tyrannical god who stomps across heaven like the giant in Jack in the Beanstalk, swinging a club and waiting to give us a smashing blow to the head. No. Rather it is as if He says to us, "You're Mine, and I want you to walk in step with Me. I've arranged a plan so that walking with Me will result in a righteous lifestyle. If you make a decision not to walk with Me, I've also arranged consequences that will happen and you must live with them."

Yes, life is short. Yes, our sins are obvious. . . . But instead of thinking of these days as just about as futile as emptying wastebaskets, see the significance of them in light of God's plan. . . . He has a way of balancing out the good with the bad.

Living Above the Level of Mediocrity

Let's be honest friends, how many times have we heard the phrase "God is in control." yet continue to live our lives as if He wasn't? Having grown up in a Christian home and being surrounded by lots of Christian friends and relatives, those were the words that I have heard on so many different occasions.

In spite of having heard that phrase so many times, I cannot shake off the impression that our independence has grabbed a stronger hold of us than we would like to admit. It's often easy to say that God is in control when things are going well, but exactly how much faith do we place in those exact words when times get real hard?

What kind of assurance had God given to you lately that confirms that He is indeed in control? Are you willing to acknowledge that God IS in control regardless of what your present circumstances look like? Granted, not everyone will acknowledge that God is in control because the first thing they will look at are the circumstances and not God Himself. With that said, trust and patience are just a couple of many virtues required to come to a total and complete understanding of God's sovereignty in our lives. So, is God really in control of our lives? YES! All we need to do is look at the final outcome of the events that have yet to fulfill itself in light of biblical prophecy that has been written to us in Scripture. Just ask any solid and seasoned Christian if God is in control. I challenge and recommend that you ask any solid and seasoned Christian you know if God is in control. You just can't ask anyone you see because there are lots of things about God's sovereignty that even someone who is young in the faith wouldn't understand. Be encouraged my friends! God is in control and my prayer is that you will comfort in knowing that as fact.

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
