All Walls Finally Fall!

For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us. (Eph. 2:14)

All walls fall . . . eventually. No matter how well-constructed or long-standing it is, the wall will fall. It may be as intimidating as an angry giant or as silent as thin air and just as invisible, like the stubborn will of a person or the bitter spirit of an individual. But all walls finally fall.

Anyone who knows even a little history knows how true that is. To this day, archaeologists' spades continue to unearth the fallen walls of the world's great empire. Egyptian walls. Grecian walls. Roman walls. French walls. German walls. Russian walls. . . .

All walls finally fall. Even our own. Even those built up against us. In the final analysis, Christ conquers! . . . There is no wall so great but that He is not greater still.

Esther: A Woman of Strength and Dignity

What kind of wall have you built around yourself?

There was one wall that was not mentioned in the above devotional: the Great Wall of China. I find it amazing that this particular wall (in most part) is still standing to this day. This particular wall is so big that it can be seen from the satellites in space. Yes my friend, that wall is that huge and a major tourist attraction for both foreign and domestic visitors alike.

The irony of it all is that most of us also happen to have a similar sized wall in our own lives. Our wall just so happens to be composed of past failures, disappointments, betrayals, etc. . . .etc. . . .

Just like the Chinese, we often decide to build walls in order to "protect" ourselves. The Great Wall of China was a necessity to hold off the Mongolians that had continuously invaded their land. The wall we build around our hearts often serves the same purpose. It serves as a defense mechanism to protect us from those who invade our lives with the intention to harm us.

Guess what friend: the wall around our hearts have to come down one day. If they don't fall soon, they will fall later. The fact of the matter is that the wall we use to protect ourselves will have to fall. All walls finally fall. Has the wall around your heart fallen yet? Better yet, have you begun the process of knocking down the wall yourself? When we are in Christ, there is no reason to have any walls erected in our lives. In the same way Jesus made Himself vulnerable to the people around Him, we must also do the same with the people around us. Amen? I pray that this post will encourage you to not only be vulnerable but transparent as well.

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
