Faith For The Future!

Rejoicing and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. (Col. 2:5)

The nature of the beast within all of us resists change. Even though our past has been painful and in some ways unrewarding and perhaps even unproductive, it would be interesting to know how many of us would rather return to our past than face the uncertainty of our future. Being creatures of habit, we would rather have the security of our yesterday than the uncertainty of our tomorrow.

But it's the uncertainty of our future that really strengthens our faith. I mean, if we knew what it was all about, then it would take no faith. All it would take is obedience. If you knew what was going to happen in the next ten years of your life, what kind of faith would it take to walk that path?

It's the mystery of it all that gives it the power, the mystery of the whole process called God's working that makes the power so magnificent.

Dropping Your Guard

We are definitely living in uncertain times my friends. We are living in an era in which violence of all kinds continue to rise, economies are trending downward, and nations rising up against other nations. In the eyes of most people, the future is looking darker and darker each day.

In spite of all the above being true, we, as Christians have faith for not just any kind of future, but a glorious one. A future filled with peace (God-made, not man-made), lives fulfilled with perfect health and eternal longevity. A future in which there will never be another war, natural disaster, plague, or any other condition that came as a result of sin.

I totally get it when I hear from so many of my friends and family when they tell me of how fearful they are of their future. I used to be the same way before I met Jesus by faith. The most amazing part is that in order for me to have a binding and fruitful relationship with Jesus, I had to have faith. Faith had to be exercised from the moment I became a believer, and more importantly, a follower of Jesus Christ.

My dear friends, the faith we exercise is not a blind faith, but a living faith. It is the kind of faith in which our hopes, dreams, and visions are rested upon and entrusted to God to lead us and to guide us under the guise of the Holy Spirit to lead us into the glorious future that He has prepared for all of His children. Tell me, do you have faith for (and in) in the future?

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' precious name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
