Light And Truth!

O send out your light and your truth: let them lead me. (Psalm 43:3)

In this psalm David asks for two specific things: light and truth. He wanted God to give him His Word (truth) and an understanding of it (light). . . .

Every believer in Jesus Christ must ultimately come to the place where he is going to trust God's Word completely before he can experience consistent victory. It is our single source of tangible truth. We try every other---we lean on self . . .  on others . . . on feelings . . . on bank accounts . . . on good works . . . on logic and reason . . . on human perspective---and we continually end up with the short straw and churning. God has given His written Word and the promise of His light to all His children. When will we ever learn to believe it and live in it and use it and claim it?  I often wonder how many of His personal promises to His people exist in His Book unclaimed and ignored.

Living Beyond the Daily Grind

The understanding (light) of God's Word (truth) must intrude in our lives in such a manner that the way we live out our lives will be influenced by the Holy Spirit to stay within the parameters of His Word. In order for us to stay within the parameters of His Word, the light of His truth must illuminate those areas of our lives that could potentially hinder our relationship with God and those around us.

In the same way that God's Word will reprimand us. His Word will also comfort us. His Word is full of promises that we often overlook or may even take for granted. Given the current state of affairs on the global front, we must make every effort with God's grace and help to instill the light of truth in the lives of those that God directs us to minister to.

My dear friends, when it's all said and done, it will be all about Jesus. Everything in God's Word from the book of Genesis to Revelation points to Jesus. Jesus can even be found in the amazing stories we read in the Old Testament. The vast majority of the stories in the O.T. are actual foreshadows of what we would expect to happen to Jesus. Given the fact that Jesus will be the only Person Who will ever be willing to be crucified for us, we have an obligation before God Himself and everyone we love and care about to share the LIGHT and TRUTH of Jesus Christ because He is the only way to get to heaven, Amen?

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' precious name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
