A Rare Commodity!

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. (Prov. 29:23)

Humility isn't a show we put on; in fact, if we think we're humble, we're probably not. And in our day of self-promotion, self-assertion, spotlighting "celebrities of the faith," and magnifying the flesh, this quality---so greatly valued by the Lord Jesus---is a rare commodity indeed. . . .

A truly humble person looks for opportunities to give himself freely to others rather than holding back, to release rather than hoarding, to build up rather than tearing down, to serve rather than being served, to learn from others rather than clamoring for the teaching stand. How blessed are those who learn this early in life.

Hope Again

Humility is definitely a rare commodity!

With so much emphasis on self-improvement and anything else involving self, I can only imagine how difficult it is to be rooted in humility. When pride is at the root of our lives and not humility, it is only a matter of time before we fall flat on our faces. Pride, when left unchecked, will destroy our lives. Pride, at it's root, is more about you than about others. It has more to do with what you get out of it than how others will be blessed or benefit from your influence.

Humility, on the other hand, is about others and how we are able to be a blessing to them. Humility acknowledges our need for God in our lives and without Him in our lives, there's very little that we can accomplish on our own and the scope of the impact in the lives of others will be limited at best. Humility enables us to be as transparent as we possibly can in all matters of life. Humility also opens up opportunities for people to gravitate to us when are able to humble ourselves and deal with life and people with a spirit of humility. My dear friends, always keep in mind that humility is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength.

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
