Perfect In Him!

In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblamable and unreprovable in his sight. (Col. 1:22)

Living as we do in product-oriented culture, we like to package our faith, too. We prefer to sell a slick, shrink-wrapped version of salvation that includes happiness and peace, and happiness here and now, and heaven by and by. While there is nothing wrong with good marketing techniques or teaching principles of authentic success, there is something wrong if we neglect to mention the process, which must inevitably include times of defeat and failure. . . .

What I'd like to know is who erected such a happily-ever-after standard of perfection in the first place? God knows very well we aren't able to produce perfection; that's why Jesus, the perfect Son of God, placed us in His family. That's why He gave us a position of perfect righteousness in Him, reminding us by contrast that our own daily experience will constantly fall short.

Moses: A Man of Selfless Dedication

I don't know how many times I have said that nobody is perfect. To a very large degree, that can be totally true regardless of how much we try in our lame pursuit of perfectionism. Perfection can only be found in Christ. It cannot and will not ever be found in anyone else except Him.

But. . . .

Perfection can be attained. As far as the Christian is concerned, perfection can only be attained through the righteousness of Christ. It is only when we abide in Him where Christ's perfection will shine through us. So friend, if anyone tells you that nobody is perfect, please feel free to lovingly correct them by telling them that you are perfect in Christ.

My dear friends, never be ashamed nor afraid to tell your friends and family how much you love Jesus and love having a truly intimate relationship with the only One Who is perfect. There's going to come a day when we will be perfect in every sense of the world when we get caught up and eventually taken to our real home, heaven. That day will one day be upon us when we least expect it. Be ready to encourage your friends and family to have an intimate relationship with the One Who is not only perfect, but Whos righteousness will make them perfect in the eyes of an imperfect world.

Thank you so much for reading this far friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you always in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
