Grace For Every Shade Of Sorrow!

You are in heaviness through manifold trials: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. (1 Pet. 1:6-7)

Trials come in various forms. The word various comes from an interesting Greek term, poikolos, which means "variegated" or "many colored." We also get the term "polka dot" from it. Trials come in a variety of forms and colors. They are different, just as we are different. Something that would hardly affect you might knock the slats out from under me---and vice versa. But God offers special grace to match every shade of sorrow. . . .

This variety of trials is like different temperature settings on God's furnace. The settings are adjusted to burn off our dross, to temper us or soften us us according to what meets our highest need. It is in God's refining fire that the authenticity of our faith is revealed. And the purpose of these fiery ordeals is that we may come forth as purified gold, a shining likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

Hope Again

Here's a question for you. . . .

How do we find grace during times of darkness, distress, and hardship?

God's grace can definitely be seen in various colors. In the case of sorrow, God's grace may actually be seen in colors ranging from gray to ivory white from a purely hypothetical standpoint. One may easily assume that the darker the sorrow, the brighter God's grace will shine. The dimmer the sorrow, the darker His grace becomes. The whole point to this is that God's grace always trumps the sorrow in our lives.

The above question is indeed a good question because it is often very difficult to find God's grace in the midst of hard times. This in no way, shape, or form means that His grace is not available to us during those times. His grace has to be sought out. What makes this difficult to do is that we can become too absorbed in our sorrows.

My dear friends, I strongly encourage all of you (including myself) to get before God and seek His presence so we can find His grace in the midst of our sorrows when times become really hard and it feels that there is no way out of the situation we are in. Instead of claiming the sorrow for our own, we must give our sorrows over to God so His grace will enable us to make through that difficult time. It will always pay to remember that His grace is available to us at all times and under any kind of circumstances. Don't take my word for it! Take His Word for it!

Thank you so much for reading this far my friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
