Outrageous Joy!

In your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)

I know of no greater need today than the need for joy. Unexplainable, contagious joy. Outrageous joy.

When that kind of joy comes aboard our ship of life, it brings things with it---like enthusiasm for life, determination to hang in there, and a strong desire to be of encouragement to others. Such qualities make our voyage bearable when we hit the open seas and encounter high waves of hardship that tend to demoralize and paralyze. There is nothing better than a joyful attitude when we face the challenges life throws at us.

Someone once asked Mother Teresa what the job description was for anyone who might wish to work alongside her in grimy streets and narrow alleys of Calcutta. Without hesitation she mentioned only two things: the desire to work hard and a joyful attitude.

Laugh Again

Joy is such an essential part of our lives. What would life be really like devoid of joy? If we allow the difficult circumstances that surround us to dictate our joy, we will be in lots of trouble. In my personal experience, outrageous joy has provided me a buffer zone to better absorb the really difficult circumstances in my life.

The funny thing about trials and suffering is that it often gets you to act in ways that you would not normally act. Outrageous, spontaneous joy along with outburst of laughter may often be accompanied by slapstick (or goofy) humor. Reactions and attitudes that you would never normally expect in times of crises not only develop, but are often upheld throughout our lifetimes.

My dear friends, we must have outrageous joy. Not only for our own benefit, but for the benefit of others. The joy will be contagious and positively impact the lives of everyone around us. Joy can (and will) be found in any situation. All you have to do is be on the lookout for it. Always be on the lookout! Wow! The miracles of experiencing God's joy in our lives and then sharing it with others in this day and age of uncertainty is so critical. Be ready to be an agent of outrageous joy my friends!

Thank you so much for reading this far friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you in Jesus' mighty name! JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!!. . . . :-).
