I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in his word do I hope. (Psalms 130:5)
Nike has a slogan that should be known throughout the whole world right now.
"Just do it!"
As a former athlete and naturally competitive person, the Nike slogan almost fits the bill in the type of the person that I am. There's something invigorating about just getting out and doing what needs to be done in order to achieve what you want to do in your life in the name of progress. In all honesty, there's obviously a place an time when we can freely apply the Nike slogan into our lives, but more often than not, God wants for us to simply...
Now wait a minute! God not only wants us to be hearers of His Word, but to also be doers of His Word. But now He wants us to also wait on Him too?! Man, He can be very demanding sometimes. I'm sure you can sense the small hint of sarcasm in those lines, but there is truth in the fact that there are moments when God will require us to wait under certain circumstances or when an unforeseen situation develops right before your eyes.
It's important to note that the type of waiting that God anticipates from us is not the type of waiting that involves sitting around with arms crossed and not actively involved and engaged at church, at work, and in the communities we live in. The type of waiting we must be participating in is active wait. As we actively wait, we continue to go about our daily responsibilities and activities in open anticipation that God will one day answer any prayer requests that we are currently waiting to answer. The beauty of actively waiting on the Lord with our requests is that we relinquish any responsibility to the prayer request as we "let go...let God" deal with the situation.
Thank you for reading this far friends! May God continue to bless you and keep you as you continue to not only wait, but just as importantly trust God in the whole process. JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!...:-).
