You Crown The Year!

You crown the year with your goodness; and your paths drop fatness. (Psalms 65:11)

In recent years, I have heard on numerous occasions that this is the Year of Jubilee. I could not agree more with this sentiment. Every year should be the Year of Jubilee in our lives as we have already submitted our lives to Christ. Granted, not every year is going to feel like jubilant in nature. Any given year can remind us of how sombering life really can be.

During those years where it seems like our lives are so dark and gloomy, it would almost feel like we are wearing a crown of thorns instead of a golden crown. A crown of thorns symbolizes suffering, depression, persecution, and any other negative connotation you can imagine. A golden crown embedded with beautiful gems symbolizes the total opposite of what the crown of thorns represents.

In the life of every single Christian, there is a proper place and time when wearing a crown of thorns is required. To be honest, I would never desire a crown of thorns for myself or for anyone else. There's nothing pleasant about wearing a "crown of thorns". Those "crown of thorns" are often very painful and will leave scars in their wake. In spite of all the pain and scars that result from wearing our "crown of thorns", God has a divine purpose and plan. The purpose and plan is to mold us even further in His image through the pain and suffering. The more magnified the pain and suffering, the more refined we become in character

God also has prepared for us a golden crown. Isn't that good news? The golden crown serves as a testament of our perseverance. The golden crown symbolizes the triumphant victory over the pain and suffering that we have experienced throughout various times of our lives. When it is all said and done my friends, as long as we remain faithful in our intimate relationship with God and we are able to persevere the trials that come our way, the golden crown that God has prepared for us will be ours for the taking. The golden crown we receive will be worth it because of all the suffering and pain that we had to overcome in receiving it when that day comes.

Thank you so much for reading this far my friend! I continue to hope and pray that God will enable you to weather any kind of pain and suffering in the same way He was able to do so in His own Son's life. Jesus found His "golden crown" through the redemption of His pain and suffering. May God continue to bless you and keep you in your journey throughout the remainder of this year and beyond. Jesus loves you and so do I!!!...:-). Here's the lyrics to the song You Crown The Year by Hillsong Live...ENJOY!!!...:-D

You crown the year with Your goodness
You answer us with awesome deeds
Your hope resounds God our Saviour
To distant lands and farthest seas

O paint the fields bright and golden
Drench the harvest with Your rain
God's river filled with living water
That flows to all as You ordained

Praise the Name of the Lord
O my soul sing His worth
All of life join the song
Come and lift up our King

Now let the earth join the dancing
Deck her out in showers of spring
The dusk and dawn forever relay
The call to come and worship Him

Holy holy
Worthy are You Lord
All the glory
To Your Name forever
